Allotment Rubbish

Please note that the waste bin and immediate area adjacent to the Trading Huts is for waste generated during the course of trading only. It is not for waste produced by allotment holders, who should make their own arrangements for safe and appropriate disposal.

An update on our Covid arrangements: All volunteers on duty may now be behind the barrier at the same time. This helps with the replenishment of 2kg bags. All face coverings for volunteers and customers are now optional. Surgical masks and blue disposable gloves are available for customers and volunteers. Reusable visors are available for volunteers. The natural barrier of the counter remains in place separating customers from volunteers. Covid has not gone away but these relaxations are in keeping with general behaviour.

Volunteers for 2023

UPDATE 12/11/2022

The shop will re-open this coming Sunday 8 January between 11:00 and 12 noon. Membership fees for new members and renewals remain at £5 and cover the calendar year 2023. We are looking for volunteers to serve for the calendar year 2024 and for people to fill critical posts on the committee. Steve Layland was appointed to the post of Treasurer at the 2022 AGM and will replace Les Orvis officially at the 2023 AGM.

We are very grateful to Les for stepping into the post in 2018 to enable the separation of duties between the treasurer post and the trading secretary post as agreed at the 2018 AGM, following the resignation of the previous treasurer earlier in that year.

Minutes of 2018 AGM, item #5

It was agreed at the 2022 AGM that we would look into the feasibility of introducing a contactless and card payment system early in the new year to supplement (and possibly largely replace) cash payments.

Best Wishes for 2023
